Paul Grandgeorge received his Bachelor and Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). He then graduated from a PhD in 2018 at the d’Alembert Institute (Sorbonne Université) in Paris, where he studied the elasto-capillary interaction between liquid droplets and spider silk threads. After his PhD, he joined EPFL as a post-doctoral associate, studying the mechanical behavior of elastic filaments in frictional contact and surfactant-laden liquid droplets. He performed a second post-doc at the University of Washington (Seattle, USA) on the development of environment-friendly biobased materials to provide alternatives to petroleum derived plastics. Throughout his research trajectory, he published papers in high-impact journals and gave invited seminars and contributing talks in international conferences. Paul joined iPrint in 2024 with the aim to enable further understanding on the relation between the physico-chemical properties of inks and their printability on different substrates.
